Look, I'm not telling you to believe this. In fact, I'm telling you not to believe it. But it's just too strange to ignore.
The news comes in reference to Jack Del Rio just getting canned by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will presumably be looking for a coach to replace him. It comes from Dave Razzano, who is now a radio host in San Francisco but, to his credit, was also an NFL scout for 20 years.
I don't know whether he knows something or not, though I'm guessing he has some sort of connection just based on being in the league for as long as he was.
The Edsall-Jacksonville link, if you're unaware, comes from his time there when the franchise first started back in the mid-90s. He was one of the original guys there, coaching the defensive backs, and supposedly was well-liked. The ownership is still the same as it was (though may not be for much longer), and the current GM was also in Jacksonville when Edsall was. So that part of it makes sense. The whole 2-10 thing? Not so much.
Again: take this with a fair amount of salt. In fact, throw so much salt on it that you don't even know what it is anymore. But it is sort of funny.
You may commence "For linebackers coach/ball boy/*insert here*?" jokes now.
