Maryland Terrapins-Colorado Buffaloes: The GameThread

Apologies for no preview, but real life was of more importance today. If you want some basic info, know that Colorado lost their top four scorers from last year. Obviously that hurts quite a bit, and it also means I'm not quite sure what to expect out of them. Last year they were somewhat up-tempo and very efficient offensively, but breaking in a mostly new team I'm certainly not expecting that again. They didn't embarrass themselves against Wichita State, but really struggled to contain WSU's wing play, with Touré Murray and Ben Smith going for 17 a piece.

Game is at 6:30, and to my knowledge the only TV option is ESPN3. That likely means no streams, either, for those of you outside the ESPN3 footprint.

Random, Baseless Prediction: Prepare yourself for the Ashton Pankey double-double, everyone.

Prediction: This is much more of a litmus test for Maryland than yesterday's game. Colorado isn't very good this season, but they're not awful and have some strong high-major talent. If Maryland loses or, worse, isn't in the game, it'll be a pretty damning indication of where they're at right now. If they win, well, we'll have to see what happens from there.

As for an actual prediction, maybe I'm a Kool-Aid drinker, but I see a team just as inexperienced as Maryland with less high-level talent but more depth. It's close, but I think (and pray) that the shots fall tonight and the Terps sneak out with a win.
