More on Sterling Gibbs' Commitment
Gold mine here of good stuff.
Gibbs said that coach Williams was very excited when he notified him about the commitment. He said that Williams is looking forward to the potential of more metro-area players coming to Maryland.
...
"I really liked coach Williams’ personality," Gibbs said. "He’s a fiery coach, and he gets the most out of his players. He’s fun to be around."
...
Although Driesell did accept the head coaching job at The Citadel earlier today, Gibbs is still happy with his decision to commit to the Terrapins. "I knew that this was definitely where I wanted to be," he said. "At the end of the day, coach Williams is the one making the subs."

Gary Williams Talks Chuck Driesell, Replacement Timeline
Good stuff from Gary here.
"It's a different league, obviously, but you have kids who want to play basketball," Williams said. "That's the bottom line. You have a chance to coach guys who are hungry to play, and the Citadel has had good teams over the years. There's some potential there to develop a really good basketball team, so I'm sure Chuck is excited about that, about the opportunity."
...
"You don't want to rush into anything, so you have to take a look at certain things and see who's available and go from there," Williams said. "The big thing is to be on board by the recruiting period. The next recruiting period is not until July. That's the most important thing."
So we've got some time it sounds like. Still, I can't imagine he wants to wait too long. - BB
Aquille Carr Named MaxPreps Freshman of the Year
Despite being 5' 6, Carr is an absolute stud. Gary, I beg of you, make the 45 minute drive to Baltimore to recruit this guy.
Terps wrap up spring ball with strong ground game - ACC BlogDinich seems to be particularly impressed with the running game.
Beating UNC this weekend was huge but you still would have liked to see them give a better effort against Virginia in the Championship game. I wouldn't be surprised if they got a third crack at the Cavaliers.
No surprise there after the Terps knocked off No. 1 North Carolina, 10-5, for the ACC Championship.
SNY.tv: News: Syracuse, others could bolt Big East
More talk on Syracuse possibly leaving the Big East if a Big 10 raid happens. I still contend that the ACC should become the first raider and go after Syracuse, UConn, Pitt and WVU. We'd be the best basketball conference ever and we'd still improve our football stock. Win-win. Go get'em, ACC. - DT
