Sorry for no posts today. Was out and about. Likely the same deal for tomorrow.

Maryland's Mackall raising his game - Sun
Good story on David Mackall, a Maryland freshman that had some trouble early in his HS career. Also a good way to see the impact prep school (FUMA, in particular) can have. Get the feeling he's going to be big time.

A defensive end in high school who, according to Jones, "made memorable plays every game" and "was one of the most aggressive kids I've ever seen," Mackall is expected to be an outside linebacker at Maryland. At 6 feet 3 and 245 pounds, Mackall has already been compared to former Maryland star Shawne Merriman.

Georgia Tech's Lawal to enter NBA draft
Bye-bye, GT. Losing Lawal is a huge blow considering Favors is all but gone as well. Doing the Coming and Going research this year will be fun, at least for Georgia Tech (not so much for Maryland). Hello to the Mfon Udofia age?

Loyola's Patsos declines offer to join Lavin at St. John's - baltimoresun.
Ok, glad Jimmy listened to me [ed's note: Dave told him to stay in an earlier clipping that is now dated]. He's staying at Loyola. -DT

Sounds like Alabama is the leader now.

SN100 watch list LB Grant swimming in offers
Quick note on 2011 ILB Curtis Grant, out of Richmond. Talk about a lot of offers. Good news, though: he says he plans to check out Maryland in addition to UVA, VT, UNC, WVU, Florida, and Clemson. It'll be an uphill battle, but at least it's a battle.

Recruiting Report: Weekly recruiting roundup
Notes on Howard and Palsson, as well as some more love for Shaun Ward. Oh, and meta-linkage, which is always fun.
