Unless the ACC wants to be relegated to an intermediary between the Big Ten and Big East, they better match the Big Ten's expansion step by step. - BB
Big Ten Expansion: Why not Maryland?
I think there is about 0% chance of this happening. Why would MD jump to the Big 10? Just off the top of my head: The reason you'd leave is to get away from a conference with a NC focus....but you'd be joining a conference with a mid-west focus; you'd go to a much harder football conference where you'd likely be at the bottom most often; you're taking your #9th most valuable basketball program and removing it from the best basketball conference; you're a founding member of the ACC; you'd lose your rivalry with Duke. And that's just off the top of my head for why MD could care less about joining the Big 10. - DT
