#22. It's nice to know a 10-3 ACC record still means something.
Very big game coming up on Saturday. VT will be hungry. Oh, and if you feel like getting excited about the Duke game:
"I know you're supposed to take 'em "a game at a time." If I were a coach, they would drum me out of their little club for peering two games into the future. But I can't help but contemplate next week's Duke game. I keep thinking how badly Greivis Vasquez -- who is a sentimental guy -- wants to win his last game at Comcast Center. And then I think how much Vasquez relishes playing Duke and how the Terps have now lost six straight to the Blue Devils. You think Vasquez and the other two seniors want their last memory of the building to be getting bounced again by Duke? Now there's some motivation for you ..."
The General grows on me more and more everyday.
"Long after the game is over and members of the media are sitting on press row writing their stories (or in our case editing our postgame package for SportsNite), the players make their way out to the floor to meet up with their family and friends. Each player is given a Papa John’s pizza for their postgame meal and usually take it with them when they leave. I’m not sure if he’s done it the entire season because I’ve only witnessed it the past two home games, but before Greivis Vasquez leaves with his family and friends, he walks over to a member of the cleaning crew and gives them his pizza. He doesn’t make a big deal about it, just walks over, hands them the pizza, exchanges a few words and shakes their hand. Say what you want about Vasquez, but I think that’s a pretty classy move."
Nice, free article by the King of Terps Sportswriting, Patrick Stevens. Mosley was very encouraging. Makes you worry a lot less about next season.
Now you can via Raycom and Jeff Barker.
ESPN Lacrosse Analyst Matt Ward says maybe.
"Q: Which game in the next couple weeks is intriguing to you?
MW: "Maryland-Duke, I’d like to see that because I think Maryland has the skill to make a run at a national championship. I just don’t think they’ve accomplished everything they’ve wanted to in the past. If they do well against Duke early on and get some confidence, with their defense and the attack they have and goalie, they can make a run. So I’m interested in seeing that Maryland-Duke game."
Not too confident on landing this one. - Ben B.
