True story. Even Duke, while still the clear favorite, is a little vulnerable with the loss of Irving to injury for possibly the season. Maryland certainly has the potential to step up, especially with how Jordan has been playing. But they need others to help him out. Just an aside about Jordan...he leads the Nation in double-doubles this season, which prompted my Mom to suggest the nickname "DD" when she called into the Gary Williams radio show yesterday. Gary and Chris Knocke both liked it. Jordan "DD" Williams.

A win over East Carolina in the Military Bowl will give the Terps the biggest turnaround in conference history. No other team has ever won nine or more games after winning two or fewer the previous season.

My take - I'm pretty sure it's a lock that Torrey is gone, but I guess that could change. But he's graduating this semester, so that's another thing to consider. I guess if there is a lock-out in the NFL, the possibility of Torrey staying another year would be one small, bright spot...

Violence and silenceI'm glad the FBI is finally involved in the police brutality beating of that Maryland student following the Duke win last year. Here's the clip if you haven't seen it. Disgusting. Amazing how that whole PG County corruption scandal affected this investigation as well. Hope those cops get what's coming to them.
