Ah, is there anything greater than the start of basketball season when the football team is also doing well? It reminds me of my freshman year, when we went to the Orange Bowl and won the Natty. Glory days indeed. Ben B. gave his thoughts on the exhibition, but there are several other tidbits worth noting, as well as info on the football team.

More on yesterday's exhibition game.
Tracking the Terps: Mosley, Gregory named Terps captains - Jeff Barker - baltimoresun.com
Mosley and Dino are team captains. Sounds about right. Although I thought Tucker could have been one over Dino.
Maryland beats Florida Southern 106-58 in tuneup - NCAA - SI.com
"Terry Jenkins scored 19 points for Florida Southern, a Division II school that went 25-5 last season and was coming off a 90-70 exhibition loss to No. 17 Butler.' I think since Butler only won by 20 and we won by 48, we're 28 points better than Butler. Its science.
Gary Unhappy, Okay With Maryland Not Being in Top 25
Are they supposed to be? -BB
It's OK. We’ll fight our way back again. It’s just the way it goes.
My take - I almost think Gary enjoys not being ranked early...he can use the "us vs. them" inspiration as a motivating tool.
Terps-UIVA TV/Kickoff Info: 3:30 on ESPN3.com
Can't get worse. At this point, I'm actually hoping to get Warrick Dunn again for comedic value. -BB
My take - Ugh, ESPN3 for the VA game. Why is ESPN U not covering any ACC game that week? Half the conference is on ESPN3....
Terrapins Insider - If Maryland wins the ACC, will Maryland fans notice?
Of course they will. This is based off a Feinstein column, and both are just stupid. Maryland is a basketball school, so when Maryland football is mediocre of course fans aren't going to care. And wins over a bunch of mediocre teams (Duke, Wake, BC, FIU) isn't going to change the perception 2-10 created. Once this team proves that they're legit, and title contenders, fans will come out in droves like they would anywhere else. Beat UVA and FSU, and see how packed Byrd is to close the season against N.C. State to decide the ACC. -BB
My take - what Ben said.
Box Seats - Happy improvised holidays, Terps fans
Woot. Rick Nelligan of the Post mentions my "Merry Faustmas" title for a Maryland Minute last week. He does a good job summarizing all of the awesome things that happened in Terp Nation over the last week.
O'Brien appears on way to ACC rookie of the year honors - D1scourse.com
As Ben B. mentioned, O'Brien has to be considered the front runner for ACC Rookie of the Year....I'm shocked no MD player has ever won it.
Scrimmage Shows What Terps Could Be
Great write up from MD's radio color commentator, Chris Knoche, after the basketball scrimmage Saturday.
Stewart Mandel discusses Terps in Weekly College Football Write-Up - SI.com
"Meanwhile Maryland's Ralph Friedgen, a guy who was presumed to be on the hot seat coming into the year, has his team off to the quietest 6-2 start in the country." National Media is starting to pick up on the Terps success...I wish more would talk about DOB and the job he's doing as a redshirt-Freshman...
Maryland still leads for Tindal
There's a premium barrier so you can't read the story, but Tindal's another Florida kid and would be a big pickup in the defensive backfield. He was troubled by the uncertainty on Maryland's staff, but the success should have quelled those fears for the moment. -BB
The Maryland passing game: Where amazing (balance) happens - D1scourse.com
As a Twitterer said during the game on Saturday, Oprah's come to College Park: YOU get a touchdown, YOU get a touchdown, EVERYBODY gets a touchdown! -BB
Special teams kick it up a notch - The Diamondback - Sports
MD's special teams play this year has been very good and probably doesn't get the credit it deserves...
PressBox: Terps In Decidedly Better Shape Than 2009
Really? Are they in better shape? Thanks, Capt. Obvious. The only reason I linked to this is because Steve Jones mentions the slogan Maryland used to start the season, which I thought was horrible, and that was "Be there for the comeback", which is points out Maryland has actually lived up to.
Accolades come early for North Carolina's Harrison Barnes - The Dagger - NCAAB - Yahoo! Sports
I sure do hate pre-season all-americans that are freshman who have never played a minute in college. So....stupid....
