Gotta say, it's been a good week. Danny O'Brien, Jordan Williams, Nick Faust...Jordan Williams again. He's already been named to the Wooden Award preseason watch list, and now J-Dub's getting in on the act a second time with the slightly more prestigious Naismith Award preseason watch list.
The news comes from a variety of sources, because they haven't listed their watch list in entirety online yet (Liz Clarke, Patrick Stevens, Jeff Barker). Like the Wooden Award, 50 players were named to the preseason watch list, including a few questionable ones (Tyler Zeller? really?), so you can expect some overlap. Still, pretty big deal for a lightly-recruited sophomore.
Williams probably isn't a serious candidate for it this year. But getting on the list is no small feat, and it sets him up quite nicely if he keeps churning out double-doubles and is still around in 2011.
