Echenique exits Rutgers for Creighton
Seems like his relationship with the Creighton staff is what put them over the edge. It definitely wasn't a high level of competition or surrounding talent.
Pe'Shon's Piece - TurtleSportsReport.com
It's basically a running blog from Pe'Shon Howard to UMD fans. Pretty awesome. My favorite parts of the piece:
"I take great pride in my defense and I like to guard the other teams best guard."
Sounds like a Gary guy.
"I am excited to be a Terp. I was at the Florida State game. I LOVED the environment. The players said it gets crazier because all the students were not there. I can’t imagine it."
Nice to have a commit who WANTS to be a Terp. Hopefully, he's more than 80% on it.
What's the key to Maryland's success this season?
Steve Yanda says rebounding. That and Greivis sound about right to me.
Mike DeCourcy Thinks Terps are "Dangerous" Team
"Dangerous" is a vague term but after a day to think about, I'm pretty encouraged with Terps' performance last night.
OK, so Maryland lost to Wake Forest. Let's make sure we add, though, that it was in overtime, on the road. Under those conditions, another Terps loss could be encouraging, not debilitating. Since G Greivis Vasquez publicly acknowledged he'd been pressing and promised to play more freely, he has averaged 25 points, and the Terps have gone 5-2, with losses to William & Mary and Wake and a win over Florida State. They've still lost most of their games against quality teams—2-4 against BCS opponents—but only one of those was at home. This has the look of a dangerous team.
Final 2009 ACC power rankings - Dinich
Drumroll, please.....#12. No surprise here.
"There wasn’t a bowl game, but coach Ralph Friedgen escaped a dreadful 2-10 season with his job instead. The one thing the Terps could celebrate this season was their still-baffling 24-21 win over ACC-runner up Clemson."
Tangney, Yates Prep for 2010 MLS SuperDraft
Good read if you follow the soccer program. It says a lot about MD soccer that two of the last three MLS Rookie of the Year's have come from Sasho's squad.
Recruiting Report: Season recap: Mario Rowson
With all the talk about Tony Grimes possibly going to Maryland, Rowson seems very underrated. Big guy with a lot of speed, he'll fit in well with the system. - Ben B.
Recruiting Report: Season recap: Jake Wheeler
Seems like he's got the body to be a dominant tackle. Here's a pretty encouraging note, as well:
"[Maryland] has a fairly good recruiting base in South Florida," said American Heritage coach Byron Walker."
