Greivis Vasquez headed to LeBron James Skills Academy
The LeBron James skills academy is one of the premier camps for high schoolers, and a lot of college players go and play pickup. Greivis Vasquez will be headed there, hopefully recruiting for us, too.

Justin Anderson impressive at LeBron James Skills Academy
Justin Anderson is shining at the LeBron James Skills Academy, and he stood out to ESPN's Reggie Rankin.

Super athletic 2012 forward Justin Anderson (Richmond, Va /Montrose Christian School) was impressive in drills today. He has off-the-charts bounce, and plays with great energy.

So...did Greivis recruit him?

[Also, random note: I can't stand it when they say Anderson is from Richmond. Grew up in Fredericksburg, plays in Rockville - pick either, not Richmond. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox.]

Gary Recruiting at the LeBron James Skills Academy
While rambling off coaches he saw at the LBJSA, ESPN's Pat Forde mentioned (on Twitter, natch) Gary's name, nestled right in between Bob Huggins and Josh Pastner. Okay, did Gary recruit Anderson?

ACC WR Profiles - Torrey Smith #3
Yes, it's fantasy, but I imagine it's pretty much the same as straight up rankings. Quite possibly my favorite current Terp Torrey Smith is up pretty high on the list. FWIW, the next Terp on the list was Ronnie Tyler at #3 and then Adrian Cannon at #37 - yikes.

With Darrius Heyward-Bey moving onto the NFL, the Terrapins are searching for a new No. 1 option. Despite the loss of one of the top receivers in the ACC, the Terrapins should feel pretty good about this position, especially with the potential of Smith and Ronnie Tyler. Smith ranked fourth on the team in catches last year, but came on strong at the end of the year, catching 16 passes over the final five games. The Terrapins are breaking in eight new starters on defense, so it will be up to the offense to carry the load early on. Smith and quarterback Chris Turner should hook up plenty of times in 2009, making this sophomore an intriguing sleeper pick.

Steve Blake Saved Kids in a Park
Now, now, don't get too excited - he only led them back to the campsite. I thought it would be much more epic if a bear was involved, but it's just one more reason Steve Blake is a great American. (Thanks Reza)

Our Recruit Overviews Not Enough?
InsideMDSports has a pretty similar overview of 2010 and 2011 recruits as we do. It's a wider net - they include guys that are on the fringes, like Akil Mitchell, Damontre Harris, James Johnson, and Alex Kirk. Quality-wise, it's not quite as good (if I may say so myself) - they pretty much just copy-paste the ESPN evaluation, but the 2011 overview is better than we can offer at the moment.
