Terps Land 2010 DE/TE Nermin Delic

Normindelic09ac150_mediumMaryland held a one-day camp today despite intermittent rains, and it's a good thing they did. Nermin Delic, a DE/TE from Dalton, Ga. Besides having an immaculately square jaw (seriously, look at it again - it's amazing), Delic is 6-5, 240 lbs, and 3 stars on Rivals.  Inside MD Sports has the story (at least the free one):

Friedgen "asked me what I wanted to study.  We were just talking about life after college, not just depending on the NFL.  What do I want to do, what kind of man he is, what he expects out of his players.  He’s a man of integrity.  He likes his players to be disciplined and the expectation level is high for his players and that’s what I like… It was a real heart-to-heart conversation.  It meant a lot to me and my dad."

Sounds like he's a pretty solid commit. There were some worries that he was going to commit simply because he didn't have any other high major offers, but he seems to really like the staff and the school.

(On a random note, does anyone know exactly how to pronounce Delic's last name? I can't figure out if it's dell-ik, like Mike Golic, or dell-ich, like Novak Djokavic.)

On topic, Delic is the 7th commit for Maryland, following Titus Till, Jeremiah Wilson, Sean Fitzpatrick, Ian Evans, Brice Laughlin, and Tyler Smith. We seem to be concentrating on the defensive side of the ball, with only two guys on offense, assuming Delic remains a DE, which is where most people assume he'll end up.
