Who is Anthony Green?

If you've been looking at the stats for football's spring practice, you've probably noticed a strange name: Anthony Green. The first time I saw it, it was just his last name with his numbers next to it: Green, 3-3-33. I racked my mind for a QB on Maryland with the last name Green. This proved to be problematic because there are only two QBs on the roster right now, and neither of them are named Green. I forgot about it.

A few days later, I read a practice report from Maryland's official site, stating that a guy named Anthony Green was playing QB for the spring. And that's about it.

Green is listed as a CB on the roster, but he's been converted to QB for spring practice to give the third team offense some reps. He's seemingly done more than that. In the mock scrimmage, he was 3 for 3 for 33 yards. Not bad, but not groundbreaking. In yesterday's scrimmage, he was bit more impressive: 4-5 for 50 yards, 13 carries for 77 yards. He led the offense to all three of their touchdowns. Sure, it's against the third team defense, but if he has the skills he shouldn't be discriminated against just because he wasn't supposed to be a QB when practice started. I'd throw him out against the second team defense a few times to see how he does.

I'll try to find out more about Green if I can, because he's certainly an interesting story (at least to me). He's probably just a placeholder for CJ Brown and Danny O'Brien, but you never know. He could turn into a legitimate threat for the #2 QB spot. Anyone know anything about the kid?
