The Lady Terps continue their quest for another title today against 4 seed Vanderbilt, tipping off at 2:00 on ESPN. We're back on Tobacco Road, which is good news: the last time the Terps were here, they won the ACC championship. No one's challenged the Terps yet in the NCAA tourney, but Vandy could pose a problem. The Commodores play a four guard lineup, led by Jennifer Risper, the SEC DPoY. They've won five straight, and won the SEC title. These two teams met last year in the Sweet 16; Maryland won that matchup, 80-66.
While the four guard set could pose some problems just due to quickness, Maryland has a large size advantage (that sounds unfamiliar). The Terps are more focused on the perimeter this year than in the past, but not to the extent Vandy is. Honestly, the Terps could be even hotter than UConn right now. I don't see Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver being stopped this early in the tournament.
