Greivis Named ACC PotW; Maryland Gets a Vote

No one is arguing that Greivis Vasquez's game against UNC was one of the best performances in Maryland history. Therefore, it should be kind of obvious that he receives this honor - the ACC player of the week. I have to admit, I had a few doubts after Gerald Henderson dropped 35 on Wake, if only because Maryland lost to Clemson earlier in the week and his performance in that game was subpar. But my worries were unfounded, and it's always great to see a Terp get this honor. This is the second time this year Greivis was named ACC Player of the Week.

Meanwhile, while Pitt jumped up to #1 and UNC (among others) fell, Maryland got made an appearance in the AP Top 25 poll. One vote (#25, of course) went the Terps' way, from Myron P. Medcalf of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Sure, it's only because they just beat UNC, and no, they don't deserve it at all, but it's nice to get a little recognition. Also, there's a 0% chance Maryland is in there next week unless they beat Duke. I'll put money on it.
