Sorry about the late post tonight. Just got back from the Wizards/Cavs game. Tip of the hat to Ben B. for most of the links today.
Maryland Falls to 18 in ESPN's Class Rankings
Well, crap. If Tobias goes elsewhere, there go the dreams of a top 5 class.
My Take: I know this seems a little low but the write-up says that once Terrence Ross officially signs, our ranking should rise. I would guess somewhere between 13 and 15.
Vasquez still searching for his shot - Terrapins Insider
If you didn't see the game, it was pretty ugly. Here's hoping Vaz gets it together pretty quickly.
"I just got to be patient," Vasquez said. "I can't really put that much pressure on myself. We're still winning by 20-some points and maybe I got to let it come to me a little more; I can't try to force it."
Looking at the Early Tournaments - SI.com
Maui Invitational is sleeper team central (and I'm not talking about Chaminade)...I'd give the best odds to Maryland, which manhandled Cal in the NCAA tournament and has some good role players around senior combo guard Greivis Vasquez.
The Pick: Vanderbilt over Maryland. The 'Dores should be a bit farther along than anyone else in Maui, given that they were able to take a five-game tour of Australia in August. And whereas the Terps struggle from beyond the arc, in Beal, Jenkins and Brad Tinsley, Vandy has a backcourt that all should shoot better than 40 percent from beyond the arc.
I think we could win Maui. I just hope we get a chance to face and beat Born "Unready" ~ Dave
Franklin settling in on sideline - WT
He might be down there full-time next year.
My Take: It's a possibility, but I've still got a feeling Ralph will be back next year.
Baltz Done for Year
Well, that's that.
Baltz had surgery today, and the injury was worse than feared. The punter is done for the season.
More Deuce Bello Insanity
It's official, I really want this kid.
