Dino's the Favorite for the 5th Starting Spot
Jeff Barker over at the Sun talked to Gary and asked if Dino would be the 5th starter and it appears the answer to that is yes. So the starting 5 will probably be Vasquez, Hayes, Milbourne, Mosley and Dino. I like it. - homertuck
My Take: Dino seems like the most obvious choice here but I'm not sure he's got the body to bang with the ACC's biggest all season. If we can get some solid contributions out of the freshmen, it'll make Dino's job a lot easier.
More on the basketball team. You can tell how happy last season made Gary. Vindicated is a word he uses a lot. Also good preview of some of the sets Gary plans to use this year, including the three guard sets we saw a lot of last year. ~ homertuck
Luke Winnn: Maryland #14 Backcourt
Seems a bit low, actually.
Vasquez might be the college game's most entertaining player due to his energy, flair and all-around talent. The Venezuelan combo guard's 35-point, 11-rebound, 10-assist effort in a February upset of North Carolina was one of last season's top performances. Hayes is a steady senior point guard, but the Terps need Bowie and Mosley to be more effective on the perimeter, as both players shot below 24 percent from long range last season.
One more thing: can we stop ranking Cal's backcourt ahead of Maryland's? Last year's results disagree. - bbroman

Sun Editorial Sounds Off on New Slogan
It's still hard to fathom that the administration spent $250,000 on "Unstoppable Starts Here." And just think of all the rocks we could have painted for Tobias with that money.
