The Williams v. AD case is getting some major national press, and it's starting to scare me.
The issue was discussed on Around the Horn (for the record, three of the four said Gary was still the right guy). It's on the ESPN ticker. There's an article on YahooSports. There's two ESPN articles on it!
Look, I'm a blogger. Of course, part of me loves this. It's interesting, my topics are already done for me, and people will read about it. The other part of me, the Maryland fan, hates it. If the rumors of an impending buyout (hopefully at the end of the year) are true, I'm not sure if the department truly believes they'll get a top-flight candidate with the way things are right now.
I'm not going to say Gary even deserves to be the coach right now, because he doesn't. But the opportunities to get someone else of even the same caliber are dwindling quickly. No coach will look at this lightly, and they shouldn't. One can only hope the two sides come to their senses and settle this privately.
