Basketball News

With Midnight Madness a week from Friday and with the football team on bye week, we'll try to take some time this week to focus on the basketball team and get over the horrible loss to UVA last week.

Freshman Forward Jin Soo Kim is still listed as awaiting clearance from the NCAA Clearinghouse, which seems somewhat troubling considering the season officially kicks off in less than a week and we still don't have the team roster officially set. I'm not sure if Kim can practice before receiving approval from the Clearinghouse, but hopefully we won't have to ask that question.

In recent recruiting news, the Terps have missed out on a key 2010 recruits. 4 star forward Terrell Vinson is now off the board. I'm not sure the Terps had a chance of landing Vinson, but it stings a little when you lose out to Loyola Marymount in a recruiting battle, especially to someone who had attended a school in your own state.

The Terps are still hopeful of landing either forward Jordan Williams, forward Tobias Harris, and or forward Arsalan Kazemi.  Either of these 3 would be a big boost to UMD's front court, and would add much needed depth in the class of 2010.

Tune back in the next day or two for season previews, predictions the continuation of the Top 10 Moments in Maryland Basketball history.
