Welcome, Jordan!
The 6-8, 245-pound forward from Torrington (Conn.) High School verbally committed to play in the ACC beginning next fall.
"I committed to Maryland earlier today," Williams said.
Scout.com's 16th-ranked center ultimately picked Coach Gary Williams' program over St. John's, which were the only two schools where he took unofficial visits. In the latter stages of his recruitment he was also hearing from Indiana, Marquette, Arizona, UMass and Xavier as well.
Well, well. Gary appears to be doing a better job in recruiting recently, especially if Epps and Buie are as strong as they seem. Williams is a top 100 player this year, and a big man at that. Could it really have gotten any better? (That's rhetorical. Of course it could've. But I'm content.) JW seems like a hard worker who has his head on straight, the kind of kid Gary loves. He could really turn into something.
