Towson announced Monday that former Maryland reserve center Braxton Dupree is transferring to play for the Tigers.
Dupree, a 6-foot-8 sophomore who played at Calvert Hall, averaged 2.1 points and 2.4 rebounds last season while appearing in 25 games, including six starts.
"I enjoyed my time at the University of Maryland and appreciate all of the efforts by coach [ Gary] Williams and his staff, Dupree said in a statement. "However, I felt it was time for me to make a change. I am extremely excited about the opportunity to play at Towson University and for coach [Pat] Kennedy. Additionally, this decision allows me the chance to be even closer to my family."
— Good decision. I wonder how his game will relate to that level. Will he be a gamechanger of sorts, a day one starter? He definitely has some talent to work with.
