Testudo Times, a Maryland Terrapins community

NC State is holding a 2:00 PM news conference, presumably to announce that Yow is the new AD. Yow confirmed to Testudo Times that she was traveling to NC State today, but that is the only confirmation we received. If Yow does leave, that creates an interesting situation for Maryland, since presumably the University President would be the one making the new hire, but Dan Mote is stepping down in August and a new President hasn't been announced or hired. That might mean a current athletic department official might be serving as interim AD for several months, until a new one can be hired. We'll keep you posted...

Wow. That's big news, huh? Of course, this will have an effect on athletics. I don't know who the new prez will be, but it'll worth it to watch how they get along with current AD, Debbie Yow. Mote just said he'd "gladly extend" Yow's contract, but that doesn't look like it'd be an option now. This will get very interesting over the summer and fall.
