A lot of analysts - and bloggers/average Joes such as myself - had been contending that the ACC was the best conference in basketball. So of course, it was a strong showing in the first round of the NCAA tournament, right?
Just a few things I noticed when researching the new enemy.
I was one of the many who predicted a win over Cal, but I didn't expect it to be nearly this easy. Maryland had the five minute scoreless streak that one comes to expect after rooting for the Terps, but other than that, it was a wonderfully played game. If not for that five minute stretch, this could've been a 20 point win, instead of 13.
It's just been a quick look at the stats, but I'm getting a feel for how the Cal game is going to play out. We should have a Q&A session with the guys over at California Golden Blogs again, which will shine some more light on their team. Just by looking at stats, though, you know exactly what Cal is: a shooting team.
Brackets released at 6:00 pm on CBS. Post any and all reactions here. FWIW, Joe Lunardi is furiously updating his bracket...he moved UMD down one spot, but now they're playing LSU. I'd love to...
Today is the day we all sweat and prepare ourselves for two possible options: a euphoric high or a miserable low. Luckily for us, the Terps are looking very good right now.
This game should've hurt me more than it did. It was a close game that one could argue Maryland could've won had they played just a little better. But going into the game, I had the belief that Maryland did everything they needed to do to get in. I still believe that.
Maryland punches their ticket to the NCAAs with a big win over Wake Forest. Let's go dancing!
