The NBA Draft takes place on June 23 in the Barclays Center in New York. Maryland basketball is expected to have three players taken, and our Matt Ellentuck (@mellentuck) took to Facebook to discuss any and all things related to the program.
Topics discussed include:
- Projecting when each Maryland player will be drafted (we're thinking Diamond Stone in the first, Jake Layman and Robert Carter Jr. in the second, and Rasheed Sulaimon going undrafted but snagging a training camp invite)
- A former teammate of Melo Trimble said the guard knew he was coming back at the start of the combine
- Jake Layman's ridiculous eating habits
- Carter's impressive combine performance, and how it seems to have secured him a spot in the draft
- The impact of Melo Trimble's return on Anthony Cowan
- Projecting Maryland's 2016-17 starting lineup
- Justin Jackson's commitment, and how important he'll be for the team.
We'll be back with more Facebook Live videos this offseason, especially before and after the draft, so be on the lookout for more - and participate - these work best when we have readers interacting with the live stream!
