How'd He Get to College Park?
Shelton was born in Sasebo, Japan but soon after moved to the states and landed in Maryland. At Roosevelt, Shelton helped his team to a county championship in his senior season and received second-team all-county. He was a standout student as well, graduating with a 3.7 GPA and receiving the Banneker/Key Scholarship at Maryland.
Profiling the entire team
Shelton redshirted in his freshman season and used that time to develop his techniques and scout the opposition. In his redshirt freshman season, he didn't see the field.
Hell in a Shell-ton
Making the team and scouting foes.
Suiting up and playing a snap or two.
It's highly unlikely for Shelton to see any action next season as a sophomore. He is currently slated sixth in the offensive guard depth chart according to Pete's scholarship breakdown. With more experience, size and mobility ahead of him, barring quite a few injuries, Shelton won't see much playing time. Shelton's focus is, and rightfully so, in academics as he tries to balance playing football and majoring in electrical engineering.
America's armpit's governor may or may not be related to this next player.
