B1G Revenue Sharing

Welcome to the Big Ten my Terp friends. I attended two different big ten schools (well three if I include the time I spent in College Park). I have read several posts where people asked about the profit sharing in the big ten, whether or not you get revenue from being the visiting team in the massive stadiums at Michigan, OSU, or Penn State. I'm not sure if it was answered by anyone in a different post, but here goes.

The answer is YES! I've included a link to an article that talks about the "philosophy" in the big ten that dates from the early days of the conference. So even Michigan recognizes that one of the reasons they can fill their stadium is by playing quality league opponents, and paying for the privilege. The article shows that the top 7 ticket sales schools paid revenue to the bottom 5 attendance schools in 2012. Bowl revenue is also split, and history has shown that during the BCS era, the Big Ten benefited more than most conferences

Welcome to the Big Ten, I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm certain you will be great competitors and will be a great addition to the conference, besides I'll get to see my Boilermakers at Byrd soon!
