According to Jeff Ermann at IMS, incoming Maryland center Trayvon Reed will be sidelined 8-12 weeks with a broken ankle. That would mean he'd be unable to workout with the team until sometime in September or October, a month or so prior to the start to the regular season.
According to the report, Reed is currently in a walking boot. Obviously, the injury will hurt his preparation for the upcoming season, and will add additional pressure for an already-thin frontcourt. According to the report, more information will be available soon.
