Looking at the season stats compared to head to head, one thing really jumps out. Conor Kelly - ND's goalie - is outplaying Niko in the goal (and his season average). He's saved over 70% of the shots on goal in game 2 which is well over his season average of 48.2%. Niko has done well - particularly in game 2 when he saved 60% of the shots on goal, just over his season average of 57%. Kelly was helped by the Terps terrible shooting in game 2 (16%)
Amato has been helped by the Terp D which limited the Irish to only 21 shots in Game 1 and 30 shots in Game 2 (both are well below their season average of 37 shots per game). Kelly has not been helped by his defense - Terps are right around their season average of 40 shots per game (40 in game one and 37 in game 2).
If Niko can continue to improve his ability to stop ND shots (and stay above his season average) and if the Terps shooters can figure Kelly out (and get him down around his season average) that is going to be very good for the Terps. Especially, if they continue to dominate on possession (via GBs, and FOs), continue to outperform ND on EMO (which they can do even better on if they can bring penalties down).
