So, I got some bad news to pile on top of the heap of awful news we've already heard. I'm from New Jersey, and I have some contacts in the local basketball area. We all know Trayvon Reed transferred to Life Center to get his grades on track, and while I've heard some of his problems have been taken care of, he's not 100% in the clear. My understanding is it is currently up in the air right now as to whether he'll be able to attend Maryland in the fall.
I don't know what Reed's role would have been next season, but if Mitchell is on his way out as well I imagine he would have rather likely been the team's starting center. If I were to play devil's advocate here, I imagine we'd see Cekovsky start at center, and Turge would continue to start Layman and Smotrycz at the three and four.
We'll see what happens going forward, but don't be totally caught off guard if this becomes a reality.
