On Friday May 2nd 2014, following the transfer of five (5!) highly touted recruits, Mark Turgeon announced his own transfer from the University of Maryland.
Citing decreased playing time and disagreements with the coaching staff, Turgeon felt it was time to turn a new page in his life.
"You know we accomplished a lot here, we had three winning seasons, a (NIT) Final Four appearance, signature wins over North Carolina (State) and ... did I mention next year's recruiting class."
Turgeon's ultimate destination is not known although he's been rumored to be a head candidate for the St. Vincent Palotti job because of his strong recruiting acumen.
