Blunt will visit College Park for the first time Saturday, as he attends the Terps' Junior Day.

Hatchling Huddle is a recurring series wherein we talk to high school players recruited by Maryland or coaches who have Maryland recruits.

Maryland has a log jam of talent at the wide receiver position heading into 2014's offseason. But that doesn't mean that the Terps and newly appointed wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell aren't looking to keep that trend rolling when 2015 rolls around.

One of the names on their list for 2015 is a recruit out of Florida's Creekside High School, Rashad Blunt, who is currently unrated by the 247sports composite, but with a 4.52 40 time and a highlight reel like this that should change soon.

Speaking of lists, in a recent phone interview with Testudo Times, Blunt said that Maryland is "definitely at the top of the list" when it comes to his top choices.

He said that if he had to pick a top three right now that it would be Maryland, Baylor, and TCU, in that order.

The interview took place just days before Maryland's Junior Day weekend, which Blunt said he plans to attend on Saturday and is excited to see the campus and the football facilities for the first time.

Blunt was happy to see that Maryland sent coaches down to his high school in Florida to gather his transcripts and show their recruiting interest. He said he really enjoyed speaking with coach McCardell, who invited him to Junior Day during that visit

"McCardell was one of the coolest college coaches I have met in a while," Blunt said.

Blunt added that he was impressed with how much McCardell already knew about his game.

"He was already giving me pointers on my highlight tape and what I needed to work on," Blunt said. "He showed me that he will always be trying to make me better, and that's something that means a lot to me in a coach."

Blunt said he has researched a lot about Maryland's football program and that he has high hopes for its future.

"I think Maryland will be one of the teams on the rise that no one is talking about," Blunt said. "They have a very young team and when their quarterback got hurt in the first couple games they didn't seem to miss a beat with the backup.

"I really like the direction they are heading in and I think they will contend for a big ten championship every year."

Blunt recently received an offer from Cincinnati, and has also received interest from Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and South Florida. If he came to College Park, he would enhance an already loaded receiving corps that will boast players like Juwann Winfree and Levern Jacobs, but will be looking to replace Stefon Diggs and Deon Long.
