With Maryland leaving the ACC for brighter horizons in the B1G, we know that the ACC is bitter. However, the ACC's governing body with its lawyers huddling around gave Maryland the worse and least profitable ACC schedule possible.
Their goal is to punish Maryland. To make Maryland feel the loss of the ACC. Remember that Maryland was a charter member of the ACC nearly 60 years ago. The fellow institutions should reign in the vindictive ACC and let a great partner exit with grace. Maryland has a tough road ahead being the kid on the B1G playground.
Whatever the issue of reprisal, Maryland fans should rejoice in joining the B1G. Great schools, great historic programs. Every two years, we'll visit the Big House in Ann Arbor, the Horseshoe in Columbus in football. And in the basketball, check out these powerhouses: Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State. We have to get our teams together for some tough sports rivalries.
Litigation will prove that Maryland has the right to leave the ACC without an outrageous exit fee. Also, Maryland will file for damages and will probably win in a few years time. If justice serves us, Maryland football wins the B1G title, plays in the Rose Bowl, and beats USC for the national championship. Won't happen, I know.
On the basketball front, Maryland wins the B1G season , beats Michigan State in the conference tournament, and then meets North Carolina and Duke for the National Championship in the final four. Now that is possible, Go Terps!
