Change is difficult but one thing I won't miss is how we have been treated by the ACC for decades. When was the last time an ACC tournament was held in Maryland? Though I will miss the rivalries I grew up with in the ACC very badly, I will not miss Maryland being the red headed stepchild of the ACC conference. The one thing about the move that is encouraging is the thought of being treated equally as compared to "that other lone school up there north of our Carolinas boys". The last thing I wanted to add is this. I get that other ACC school fan bases are going to be rowdy just like us and talk smack. I get that the split from the ACC is not a pretty one. Our rivalries with schools like Virginia, Duke, and others go back 90 years. At one televised ACC game, I would have loved to see one fan sign say "Terps, thanks for the memories" Perhaps one ACC coach say at a game ending interview a class statement like "Marlyand leaving is tough for me and our fans, we'll miss playing Maryland and its the end of a tradition." Instead "see ya" signs and Coach K stupidly & abrasivelly saying "If it was such a great rivalry, then why are they leaving?" Everyone knows that the Terps had to make this move as the athletic dept is bankrupt and we are part of the massive realignment happening in college basketball. I didn't like this move either in fact I hated it on an emotional level. But when a long term 90 + year rivalry ends, is the only thing ACC fans can say is see ya?
