Maryland/ Duke- the end of the rivalry

For the alumni who have seen this rivalry over many years, it's hard not to be sad over the end of Duke- Maryland Games. For me, I remember both joy and pain at these great games. Screaming at guys over the years from Bobby Hurley to JJ Reddick and wanting to kick Dukes *ss so badly. Duke was the private school that Dick Vitale would rave about on the TV , always loaded with a top recruting class of McDonalds all americans year after year. We were happy for a long while if we landed just one player in the top 100 on rivals.com if we were so lucky on a given year. Star Wars had Darth Vader, Superman had lex Luthor, and classic 1980s wrestling had Rowdy Roddy Piper. Our arch villian was Duke and Coach K. The loss of this arch enemy is something I will miss badly, hating the bad guy and the adrenaline rush of beating the bad guy. The terp fans reached a frenzied pitch at all Duke games that could not be brought on by any other opponent. This is something I will truly miss, I doubt if that can ever be replaced.
