Who Could Give Us That "Splash"

Let me preface this fanpost by saying I'm not in favor of getting rid of Randy Edsall at this time for multiple reasons: 1) I believe he needs more time to see what he can do for the UMD football program; 2) Firing RE would risk taking the program down again before the new head coach could get his players and coaches in place; 3) With Kevin Anderson still at the helm, are we confident he'd make a good choice for a new coach, and; 4) The fiscal situation doesn't support changing coaches.

But, let's imagine Edsall were to accept a position elsewhere, and we had to hire a new coach; who would you want, and who do you think would realistically accept the job?

A number of folks have said they want a coach who would make a "splash". If it came down to it, would you want that "splash" hire if it increased the possibility of running afoul of the NCAA? I'm not saying, for instance, that Mike Leach would get us into trouble with the NCAA, but I think it's safe to say the likelihood of that happening would be greater under Leach than Edsall.

So, dream on, guys and gals: Is there a "splash" hire out there who would realistically accept the UMD head football coach position? Who would that be, why do you think he'd make a "splash" if he were hired, and why would he accept the job ?
