lets take a look and see how that works:
2012-2013
Player ppg apg rpg
Len 11.8 1.0 7.8
Padgett 5.4 .5 3.8
Howard 3.3 3.6 2.4
Aronhalt 5.9 .4 1.6
totals 26.4 5.5 15.6
2013-2014
Smotrycz 11.6 1.7 6.8
Peters 5.5 2.9 1.4
Dodd .9 0 1.4
Graham 2.2 .2 2.4
Totals 20.2 4.8 12.0
Are we surprised? The four departed players from last year averaged 6.2. pts per game more than the four additions to the teams this year(we would have won last nights game)
3.6 more rebounds per game and
.7 more assists per game.
With an extra 6.2 pts per game perhaps Connecticut , George Washington, Boston U and Pitt also would have been victories and not defeats. We would be standing at 4/3 in the ACC and not 3/4
Last season we scored 70.7ppg and gave up 64 ppg a 6.7 pt differential
this season we are scoring more 72 ppg but giving up 68.3 ppg a 3.7 pt differential and of course the toughest part of our schedule is yet to come.
It appears that Maryland lost a lot when they lost Alex Len to the draft , Peshon Howard transferred and Aronhalt and Padgett left.
But we know that our head coach is responsible for everything that happens so it's really time he left isn't it?
