We're two games into the football season, we're 2-0, and we've won both games in an impressive fashion, on both sides of the ball. Collectively, it seems, we're cautiously giddy.
But the toughest portion of the schedule is yet to come, with the likes of WVU and FSU only a month or so away. So, which of the upcoming games is the most critical? IMO, it's the WVU game.
Assuming we take care of business at UConn Saturday, WVU looms as the only team able to keep us from starting the season 4-0, entering the ACC portion of the schedule. If we're able to convincingly beat WVU (not necessarily blow them out....a 35-17 final score would be fine), our confidence should be sky-high entering a bye week before facing Florida State.
That confidence, combined with two weeks to get healthy and prepare for FSU, gives us our best chance to win the game in Tallahassee. But winning that game isn't critical; it's one we're expected to lose. Staying in the game, though, is important to maintain that confidence.
Of the games remaining on the schedule, which do you think is the most critical, and why?
