In an item first reported by the Diamondback Online, Maryland men's soccer players Christiano Francois and Jordan Cyrus have been declared ineligible for the 2013 season which has its season opener in two weeks at Stanford. It was determined that Cyrus has used all his eligibility and Francois was declared academically ineligible.
Francois, a speedy sophomore forward from New Jersey started three games and appeared in all 24 games in his freshman season. His speed off the bench helped him finish the year with five goals and four assists.
Cyrus, also a forward, started fifteen games for the Terps and appeared in twenty-three of the team's twenty-four games. He tallied two goals and three assists.
