Doug McIntyre of ESPN recently put out a depth chart for the USMNT based on current form as they head into their upcoming friendlies against Belgium and Germany and, more importantly, the next round of World Cup qualifiers. He has Graham Zusi and Omar Gonzalez projected as starters. Gonzalez is quickly becoming one of the top players on the roster at right center back. Zusi's spot is a bit more tenuous since he will be affected by what Landon Donovan decides to do and how he plays if he returns to the roster. Maurice Edu and Clarence Goodson also seem in good position to make the World Cup roster. Edu is not the most skilled player but his work rate is difficult to match and he can play midfield or defender. Goodson could slide into the starting role at left center back with a solid performance in the upcoming matches.
