Joe Vellano, former Terps DL, signs with Patriots as undrafted free agent - baltimoresun.com
Great to see Joe land with a good team like the Pats. If I was a player who didn't get drafted, you have to be happy with the opportunity to work with someone like Belichick. Hope it works out.
Antonio Barton says Maryland is one of a few programs he's seriously considering - baltimoresun.com
I personally would like to have Barton more than Eli Carter. Barton is a guard, can play the 1, but can also score at the 2. He's a decent 3-point shooter and would bring some needed depth to the 1 & 2 guard positions. Carter on the other hand is much more of a wing, where I think we have a log jam, and as Ben B. pointed out yesterday, Carter is Stoglin-esque in his shooting. He'll get you points but he has to put up a ton of shots to get 'em. Give me Barton, please. He's also a Baltimore guy, which is always a good thing to have on your roster. Love that Nick is recruiting him too.
