Terp football recruiting update.

An update on Maryland Terrapins recruiting for 2014. The consensus #2 ranked player in the state of Maryland for 2014, Sam Mustipher has committed to Notre Dame and will not be going to Maryland. Mustipher was a real talented offensive lineman with a ton of upside. Lots of potential to grow and was already a big dude who could fit in really well for this football team this year and especially later on in our move to the B1G. It was always going to be tough for Maryland as we were up against quite the bit of competition. Numerous "blue blood" schools so to speak were after him. I liked our chances but it wasn't meant to be. Maryland is still after Damian Prince the top player in Maryland a Top 15 player overall. He would instantly improve us. Mustipher was the more likely option and maybe the better in the long run to establish this Maryland team. Him and Brock Ruble were the two additions who seemed most realistic.

This loss hurts a bit as he would have helped. Terps still have a chance at other solid O Lineman for this 2014 class and if you want to read more about them and Mustipher and Ruble check out these posts I put up a while back where I run down the top prospects in the DMV area in better detail: http://www.testudotimes.com/2013/4/4/4181592/maryland-football-recruiting, http://www.testudotimes.com/2013/4/4/4185400/maryland-football-recruiting-part-2, and http://www.testudotimes.com/2013/4/6/4189474/maryland-football-recruiting-part-3.
