Random, Baseless Prediction: Maryland only turns the ball over twice in the first half. Two are offensive fouls off the ball. Hey, they're random and baseless for a reason.
For something less R and B, but still in the spirit of the RBP, this game will be a scrap. Jake Layman returns to His City, plus remember that Alex Len and Lonnie Jackson got the handbags out last time. BC is going to come in with a chip on their shoulder, looking to beat the team that just beat Duke, and Turgeon's going to use anything he can to motivate his team, including urging them to show some life when BC gets rough. I'm expecting it to get scrappy.
Prediction: In reality, it's going to be a battle. BC plays teams that way to begin with. With a young Maryland team coming off a huge win? Oh, it'll be close.
But forget that. I went with what my brain told me against Duke, and look how wrong I was. As good as the Duke win was, I think I might enjoy a total and utter blitzing of BC almost as enjoyable. Not in the same way, obviously, but a complete, focused 40 minutes of basketball on the road, taking advantage of Maryland's size and talent surpluses ... it'd be sublime. So while my real prediction of Maryland by six holds, the GameThread prediction is the much cheerier Terps 72, BC 58.
