Turnovers have been an issue all season, from the first game against UK, through all of the cupcakes, and certainly in conference play. I fully expected that our turnover rate would increase pretty dramatically against the quicker, bigger, longer players in the ACC.
Generally, I look at turnovers per game to formulate an opinion. But, because I was bored, I decided to look at turnovers per 40 minutes, on an overall basis, and in ACC play. I thought it might provide good data for a conversation.
There are clearly more reasons than just turnovers to determine who our primary PG should be, but based strictly on these numbers, Seth and Nick can both make a claim to being the starter. Frankly, I was surprised Seth's turnover rate decreased - significantly - in conference games (as did Nick's to a lesser extent). Jake's improvement in this area is also noteworthy.
Conversely, Alex, and Shaq got significantly worse, committing roughly one additional turnover per 40 minutes.
So, here's the data:
NAME..............OVERALL...............ACC Len.....................2.46.....................3.44 Wells...................4.38.....................4.90 Faust...................2.96.....................2.75 Allen...................3.68.....................2.65 Mitchell................3.38.....................3.05 Padgett.................1.98.....................1.42 Aronhalt................1.84.....................1.87 Layman..................2.46.....................1.43 Cleare..................1.77.....................2.78 Howard..................3.59.....................3.83
