Roddy Peters at starting Point Guard- the right move

I was reading today that Mark Turgeon has stated that Roddy Peters is his best point guard option and is expected to start next game. Though I applaud his creativity in trying out Dez Wells at PG, I think its crystal clear that Dez scores a lot more points in his natural position. What I disagreed with about waiting this long to put Roddy as starting PG is that Roddy is the only true PG on the team and a Rivals top 50 overall rated player in the country. This is the right move going forward as even if Roddy makes mistakes in his first year, he has the opportunity to learn and grow by getting playing time. Not only will he get better but so will the rest of the team playing at their natural positions. No question that the Terps are off to a terrible start compared to expectations, losing a starting PG with limited depth will do that to a team. As a fan, I feel a whole better about seeing the guys in their natural positions doing their best and improving as a team. Remember next year we are going to have some of our best players as seniors and an incredible 2014 4 man recruiting class coming in (with 2 Rivals top 50 players and 2 Rivals 100 rated players). Give it time and patience and I hope Turge keeps the guys in the natural roles where they will get better and grow to a top contending team. Be patient all, the team has a ton of talent and will turn it around. If they stick to fundamentals, The Terps will be a very dangerous basketball team this year and especially next year when a stellar #9 rated best recruiting class in the country comes in!!
