Maryland released their official injury report Thursday evening and as was speculated yesterday, several key defensive players will be missing the Syracuse game on Saturday at Byrd Stadium. DB Jeremiah Johnson (toe) and linebacker Cole Farrand are both listed as out, as is wide receiver Tyrek Cheeseboro, who is still recovering from a head injury after being hit by a bus.
Linebacker L.A. Goree (back), defensive back Anthony Nixon (toe), offensive lineman Andrew Zeller (knee) and kicker Adam Greene (quad) are all listed as questionable. Offensive lineman Silvano Altamirano (back) and tight end Dave Stinebaugh (knee) are both listed as probable.
The good news is that the bye week did allow several players who were out against Clemson to get healthy. C.J. Brown is back and is joined in the backfield with running back Brandon Ross. Tight end Dave Stinebaugh, as well as wide receiver Nigel King should also be good to go on Saturday. Additionally, Maryland will return some second-string depth to a number of offensive players, including wide receivers Daniel Adams and DeAndre Lane, right tackle Nick Klemm, and fullback Tyler Cierski.
