Maryland-Boston College score update: Game tied 10-10 at halftime

The Eagles took advantage of a blocked punt, scoring a touchdown with Andre Williams to tie the game up as we head into halftime.

Boston College started the quarter with the ball near midfield on third-and-three, but a false start penalty moved them back. Yannick Ngakoue and Marcus Whitfield got through on the next play and sacked Chase Rettig, forcing the Eagles to punt.

Maryland went three-and-out on their next drive, but Nate Renfro's punt was blocked, giving the Eagles the ball at the seven. Andre Williams scored on the next play, tying the game at 10-10.

The Terps drove down the field on their next drive, as C.J. Brown completed three of his first four passes on the drive for 34 yards, with Brandon Ross chipping in with 19 yards on his first four rushes of the drive. Two straight flags cancelled out completions (including one to Nigel King in the end zone), leaving the Terps with first-and-30 in their own territory. On third-and-18, C.J. Brown ran out of the pocket, brought a defender forward, and found Levern Jacobs for a 33-yard gain, but it was called back due to an illegal forward pass. Maryland punted the ball away, giving the Eagles the ball with about six-and-a-half minutes left.

Chase Rettig threw a ball over the middle with Marcus Whitfield pursuing, and it fell right into the hands of Sean Davis. No Boston College receiver was anywhere near the ball when it was picked off. Maryland was unable to capitalize and punted the ball away, but were able to land it at the two-yard line. The Terps forced a three-and-out, getting the ball back at BC's 47-yard line with three minutes to go. Maryland was forced to punt it away again, this time resulting in a questionable touchback.
