Dion Wiley, one of the centerpieces of Mark Turgeon's 2014 recruiting class, signed his LOI to play for Maryland today after verbally committing to the school back in June.
Wiley, who is considered by most recruiting sites to be a top 50 player in the 2014 class, is a deadly three point shooter who can break down defenders off the dribble, get into the lane and score. He also provides Maryland with another tall player on the court (he's listed as 6'4"), which should cause some match-up problems for opposing teams.
Wiley, who is from Oxon Hill, Md., played for the AAU squad Team Takeover and was a big commit for the Terps, allowing them to lock down one of the state's best talents and bring him to College Park. Wiley also received offers from Georgetown, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Villanova and NC State, among others.
Wiley joins three other four star players, Romelo Trimble, Trayvon Reed and Jared Nickens, in what most consider to be a top 10 recruiting class for Maryland.
Finally, here is a highlight video of Wiley. Get excited, folks.
