How'd He Get to College Park?
Graham initially committed to and attended Penn State for his freshman and sophomore year before deciding to transfer to Maryland. He's currently waiting to hear back from the NCAA about a waiver request that would allow him to play immediately and not sit out this season.
Realizing that if he's going to play basketball in the B1G, he should do it at a basketball school, not a football school.
Graham is granted his NCAA waiver and is able to play this season, contributing off the bench, providing additional depth in the front court, and averaging five ppg and five rpg.
For Graham, the 2013 season could go one of two ways; he's grated the waiver or he's not. Head coach Mark Turgeon seemed optimistic that the school would hear, one way or another, about the status of that waiver prior to the start of the season, but at this point, everything is still up in the air. If his waiver is denied, Maryland can appeal, but if that's denied, Graham will have to sit out this season and will only be able to practice with the team. Should he be able to play, Graham will be a little buried behind Shaquille Cleare, Charles Mitchell and possibly even Damonte Dodd, unless he can prove to be a strong defensive presence in the paint, where Maryland needs to make up for the loss of Alex Len.
Our next player is one of the biggest characters on the team and would probably be a good candidate to MC Maryland Madness.
