Recruiting roundup: Many visitors for Maryland Madness, Terps lose a commitment

Recapping the week that was in Maryland recruiting.

First, basketball:

Here's who visited for Maryland Madness:

Cowan took an unofficial visit to Virginia the next day, and will visit Georgetown and Rutgers this weekend.

Four-star 2015 power forward Tyler Lydon committed to Syracuse.

Four-star 2015 shooting guard Franklin Howard was offered by Syracuse.

2015 three-star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell visited Connecticut.

Now for football news:

2014 running back commitment Johnathan Thomas has decommitted from Maryland, and will instead attend Penn State.

2014 three-star defensive end Melvin Keihn took an official visit to Virginia. He will visit Maryland this weekend.

Two-star 2014 cornerback Elliott Davis visited Wake Forest and received a scholarship offer.

Maryland offered 2016 DeMatha guard Terrance Davis, as did Illinois.

2015 four-star offensive guard Quarvez Boulware, considered the top player in DC, has apparently listed Maryland and Florida State as his top two schools.

2015 four-star DC wide receiver/cornerback Marcus Lewis received offers f1rom Virginia Tech and North Carolina.

2015 three-star inside linebacker Wyatt Cook visited Pitt and West Virginia.
