Maryland-Clemson depth chart: Fallout from the carnage - co-starters at quarterback

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

After a slew of injuries and an embarrassing defeat to Wake Forest, Maryland's depth chart has a new look.

After season-ending injuries to Stefon Diggs and Deon Long, it was a safe bet that there would be a number of changes on Maryland's newest depth chart. Here's recapping the changes:

  • C.J. Brown and Caleb Rowe are sharing the starting quarterback spot. Brown has been the starter all year (except for the game against Virginia, which he missed with a concussion), but Rowe took over for him midway through the loss against Wake Forest. Brown is a dual-threat quarterback, but Rowe is a better passer, and Maryland may make their decision based on Clemson's defense.
  • With Long and Diggs out, redshirt freshman Amba Etta-Tawo and sophomore Levern Jacobs are the new starters on the outside and at the slot, respectively. Both are solid options who have shown playmaking ability this season.
  • The backups at those two positions are now New Mexico transfer Daniel Adams and true freshman DeAndre Lane, both recently recovered from injury.
  • At the other wide receiver position, Nigel King and Malcolm Culmer are listed as co-starters.
  • Roman Braglio and Zeke Riser have switched defensive end positions.
  • With Diggs out, Will Likely is officially the kick returner and punt returner. Jacobs is his backup in the punt game, with Jacquille Veii as the second kick returner.
